Acumen

Life is fleeting before my eyes

The old embrace the young

Their eyes shine with experience

Their skin gathers with prudence and reason

The counsel of the wise to forever be adorned

To live for today yet entertain the ideas of tomorrow

We will all sink, subside and settle

Bare your heart to their words

Take captive the worn

Breathe in the vibrance of life

For theirs is the touch of consciousness

For theirs is the strength to abide

And abide we shall.
