So in my book I am reading (Being A Girl Who Loves) I read about the lepers in Jesus' time, and how they were forced out of their homes to go into a leper colony far away from town where they could never see their family or friends ever again. If you don't know what the disease is, it's when you get painful sores all over your body and everything on the inside and outside basically rots away and your limbs fall off. Pretty disgusting. But these people were never able to be touched because they were so incredibly contagious. And there was a story of one particular leper who walked into town, willing to be humiliated and unloved all to see Jesus in hopes that he would be healed. But the crazy thing is, that the leper said to Jesus "Lord, if you are WILLING to heal me..." so that made me think, how many times do we go to God demanding things from Him rather than going to Him humbly knowing that he doesn't HAVE to do anything, but he does it because he loves us. We take advantage of God so much.
And another thing is, we don't look and notice God in our lives daily and thank him for EVERYTHING, whether or not we like it. For example, I don't LIKE having a broken leg, but I can already see how God is using my injury as a positive in my life rather than something to be angry about. So take time to notice God in the areas of your life where you usually let it brush right past you without acknowledging it.
I have to get back to decorating the pirate cup cakes :)

OMG, i'm just now reading this. since apparently i missed the memo that you had a blog for like ever. WTF. ahhh this was such a grand night haha. OH the pirate rave. i love us. cant wait to bake this summer in the wee hours and play and lay in the sun and, oh yea ummm read your blog! haha sweet, we'll have a sweet freaking summer and blog all about it :) hehe
